Susan Thorsen believes that in order to create an unforgettable photograph, a photographer is dependent upon a combination of several factors that cannot be taught: intuitive instinct, split second timing, and having been blessed with a creative gift that clearly defines his or her individual style. It isn’t a skill that a photographer learns as part of their craft - it is a natural talent. Throughout the course of the history of photographic art, this combination of components has many times been termed as "decisive moments".
For Susan, every photo session includes a decisive moment or two. She describes those moments as coming from the heart and soul in a process she calls "a labor of love". It is a connection of souls, a perceptiveness and an unspoken understanding of human beings, young and old.
Along with her commitment to mastering the capture of souls and produce images that have meaning, Susan's decisive moments seem to magically occur.....
